Nobuya Kawasaki

Nobuya "Nobu" Kawasaki serves as President Director of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, a role he has held since being appointed at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 31 March 2026. He is also a Japanese citizen currently domiciled in Indonesia.

With more than 29 years of international banking experience, Mr. Kawasaki has built an extensive career across MUFG's operations in Japan, Singapore, and the broader Asia Pacific region. Prior to becoming President Director, he served as Commissioner of Danamon from 2019 to March 2026, providing strategic oversight during a significant period of transformation and growth for the bank.

Before joining Danamon's Board of Directors, Mr. Kawasaki was Chief Executive for Asia Pacific at MUFG Bank, Ltd., where he led the bank's regional business across one of the world's most dynamic markets. Throughout his career, he has held a series of senior leadership positions spanning corporate banking, investment banking, business planning, technology, innovation, and strategic management. He is particularly recognized for his expertise in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance, and regional business expansion, having played a key role in several of MUFG's landmark investments and strategic initiatives across Southeast Asia.

Mr. Kawasaki holds both a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Mechanical Engineering from Keio University, Japan. His combination of international leadership experience, strategic vision, and deep understanding of the Asian financial services landscape enables him to guide Danamon's continued growth and strengthen its position as a key member of the MUFG Group.
