Abdulazal Toshkhujaev

Abdulazal Toshkhujaev is the Deputy CEO and Managing Partner at UzVC, Uzbekistan’s first national venture capital fund which now turned into the first Fund of funds of VC sector. Joining since inception in 2021, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the country's venture capital landscape. Abdulazal co-authored the founding government act for the Fund, defined its investment policy and strategy, and helped transform UzVC into a Fund of Funds structure. With his immense actions and participation, the Fund has managed a multimillion-dollar portfolio and invested in nine startups across diverse sectors after reviewing and scoring more than 1000 applications. Recently secured over $72 million in capital from government as Fund of funds for the years 2025-2029 with future follow on investment.
Prior to UzVC, contributed to academic research published by Springer. He also served as a lead investment specialist at the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan, where he helped establish the legal foundation for venture capital in the country.
A graduate of the University of Sunderland, Abdulazal further enhanced his expertise with executive education from The Wharton School and Chicago Booth. He is an active contributor to the regional innovation ecosystem, serving on multiple boards and judging panels for startup accelerators and competitions.
