Everything you need to know about the Forum

What is the Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum? The Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum is a policy-led platform co-organised by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN). It is the first forum in Central Asia to be co-organised at the central bank level.

Held annually in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the Forum convenes regulators, financial institution leaders, fintech founders, investors, and technologists to advance Central Asia's digital finance agenda - working across policy, capital, technology, and talent.

When and where does the Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum take place? The Forum will be held from 24 – 26 August 2026 across two venues at:

Day 1 and 2: 24 – 25 August 2026
Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan (CAEx)
Milliy Bog Street, Building No. 1, Tashkent

Day 3: 26 August 2026
Islamic Civilisation Centre (ICC)
Karasaray 47, Almazar District, Tashkent

Delegates are also invited to travel to Samarkand for an optional Cultural Heritage Experience on 27 August 2026. The journey is approximately 2 hours on the Afrosiyob high-speed train.

Is there a dress code?

For the first two days at the Central Asian Expo Uzbekistan (CAEx), the dress code is business or smart casual. The weather in Tashkent in August can be warm, so come in an appropriate comfortable attire. 

On day three at the Islamic Civilisation Centre , please follow dress code requirements in religious areas.

Are passes transferrable?

Transfer of passes is subject to approval. Please reach out to info@silkroadfinancetechnologyforum.com with your request.

Do I need a visa to attend?

It is each attendee's responsibility to ensure they have the required documents to enter Uzbekistan. For visa information, please visit the official Uzbekistan e-visa portal: https://e-visa.gov.uz/application.

How can I nominate a speaker for the Forum?

To nominate a speaker, submit your proposal in the form here.

Is there an event app? Yes, there will be an Official Event App. More details will be shared closer to the event.

If I want to set a meeting or reach out to an attendee, is there a way to do it? The Official Event app will include an in-app chat function, which will allow you to connect directly with other attendees and continue networking throughout the event.

Will security checks be conducted at the Forum? Yes. There are walkthrough metal detectors at CAEx. Visitors are advised to travel light to expedite security checks.

Are there any items which are not allowed to be brought into the Forum?

Firearms, explosives, drones, personal mobility devices, large chains, sharp items, and more.

The Organiser will have the final say on items not listed above. The decision is final and absolute. All participants are advised to bring along personal identification as security checks may be carried out at the Organisers’ discretion.

Is there an age restriction to participating in the Forum? The Forum is open to registered trade visitors and professionals who are 16 years and above.
