Sanjar Mavlyanov

Chief Executive Officer & Founder, Moneff

Sanjar Mavlyanov is the Founder and CEO of Moneff, a dual-jurisdiction fintech group regulated in the United Kingdom and Denmark — believed to be the first UK–Denmark licensed fintech founded by an Uzbek entrepreneur. He is based in the United Kingdom.

His route into fintech was through compliance. A career in financial crime and AML gave him an unusually close view of why cross-border payments remain expensive and difficult for the people who need them most — and it explains Moneff's sequencing: regulatory permissions in two jurisdictions first, growth second.

Moneff was built for a region and a community. It is customer-led, but compliance-first and technology-driven by design. Central Asia is among the world's fastest-growing economies and fastest-moving digital markets, yet its connection to UK and European financial infrastructure remains costly and underbuilt, with few credible cross-border payment options. Moneff exists to close that gap — starting with Uzbekistan, with the ambition to connect Central Asian communities wherever they live: reducing remittance costs, opening access to accounts, and designing products around how migrant and expatriate customers actually live and earn. The group spans a UK holding company, regulated entities in the UK and Denmark, a Canadian licence application in progress, and a technology company in Tashkent registered with IT Park.

Beyond Moneff, Sanjar is an entrepreneur and investor across several projects in Uzbekistan and an active supporter of the Uzbek community in the UK. With his partners and team, he is building Moneff into Uzbekistan's first globally scaled fintech.
