Observatory: The New Digital Asset Frontier
Inspired by Ulugh Beg's observatory, which calculated what was coming
Programme Pillar
Digital assets, tokenisation, CBDCs, and stablecoins
Ulugh Beg's observatory produced the most precise star catalogue of the fifteenth century, used by navigators for generations. Accurate mapping is a precondition for movement.
In the same spirit, The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CBU) and the National Agency for Perspective Projects (NAPP) are bringing that discipline to digital assets, with stablecoins, wholesale CBDCs, and tokenised real-world assets all under active research. The Forum creates the space for regulators and industry to move from research to pilot, together.
Across Central Asia where remittance flows are large, trade routes are being redrawn and the appetite for new financial instruments is expanding, stablecoins, wholesale CBDCs and tokenised assets are practical tools for the corridors being built today.
